Work in progress...
I will soon add more details to this page. Here is a list of some mobile operators:
My story:
In France, I use SFR. To keep my mobile number, I had to put my line "in sleep" and paid 4,50€ per month.
I unblocked my smartphone in order to use it with a SIM card of a foreign mobile operator for an exorbitant price (80€ I think).
Once I arrived here, I took a prepaid card with the first operator I found in the mall: Aio.
Prepaid cards are the best solution in order to not be tied down for two years in the USA.
For $40/month I have MMS, SMS and unlimited calls in USA, an internet connection that is slow but that works. Each month I connect online to recharge my number which stays the same from one month to another.
From time to time, I pay $15 more to be able to have unlimited calls to France during one month, unlimited SMS to mobile phones in France (and in 34 other countries).
If you are in a group you can get family rates from other operators (AT&T I think) at attractive rates ($15/month).
