In Texas
AUSTIN
Austin is the capital of Texas, so while youre there you can visit the famous Capitol. Austin is also known by the students for its famous "6th Street", which is a must for those who like parties!
Colorful city, artistic city: we invite you to discover Graffiti Park and to open your eyes to beautiful graffitis or "mural paintings" everywhere in the city.
Amongst the most famous ones are the "I love you so much..." and
"Greetings from Austin". During the day, there is nothing like
strolling on South of Congress, a vibrant and hype
neighborhood that offers a beautiful view of
Downtown and the Capitol.
At sunset, don't miss out on seeing the flight of the millions of
bats living under the Congress Avenue Bridge.

In USA
In College Station there is an airport where you can fly via American Airlines or United Airlines. Neverthelessm prices can be excessive and in some case the cheapest solution can be to go first to Georges Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) with Groundshuttle (see Practicals/Transportation) .
If you own a car you can fly without any issue from Houston, Dallas and Austin airports for "low" prices.
Distance with College Station...
Houston Georges Bush Intercontinental Airport: 1h36 / 102 miles
Austin Bergstrom International Airport: 1h34 / 100 miles
Dallas Forth Worth International Airport: 3h00 / 195 miles
If you feel like driving for hours on American roads you will need at least 3 or 4 days to get out of Texas and take some time to visit a new region.
The most accessible place is without any doubt Louisiana. In 3 days (4 days being preferable) you can visit a swamp (warning: no alligator in winter), a plantation (ex: Oak Alley Plantation, Evergreen Plantation where some scenes from the movie Django Unchained were shot, Laura Plantation,...), party in Bourbon Street (please no girls alone) and visit other neighborhoods in New Orleans.
By adding another week, you can go to Floride on the East coast, and also to National parcs on the West coast (Arches, Canyonland, Zion, Grand Canyon,...).
"Voilà ", as the Americans say. These are only some examples of what you can do, there is so much to discover!
